Enhanced Formfill PS 1767

At the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), your safety is our top priority. Every postal worker deserves to work in a safe environment, free from hazards. Reporting unsafe conditions promptly can prevent injuries and accidents. The PS Form 1767 is designed for exactly that purpose—to help you formally report any dangerous conditions in your workplace.

Unfortunately, despite the importance of this form, management has refused to make physical copies available on the workroom floors. In response, we are proud to announce an enhanced digital fillable version of the PS Form 1767 that you can easily download, complete, and submit electronically.

What is PS Form 1767?
The PS Form 1767 (Report of Hazard, Unsafe Condition or Practice) is a tool that allows you to document and report any potential dangers or unsafe practices in your workplace. Whether it’s faulty equipment, hazardous materials, or unsafe working conditions, the form helps you take action to protect yourself and your coworkers.

Introducing the Enhanced Digital FillForm Version
Given the lack of support from management to provide these forms, we’ve created a user-friendly digital version of the PS 1767 FormFill in PDF format. This form is intuitive, allowing you to:

– Download and save the blank form.
– Fill out the form easily on your computer or mobile device.
– Sign the form electronically.

Why Should You Use PS Form 1767?
– Immediate Action: Reporting unsafe conditions allows management to address hazards quickly, helping to prevent accidents before they occur.

Rallying Support for Fran and Ann Friel After Hurricanes Helene and Milton

Hey APWU family,

This is Tony Rodriguez, your editor for the South Jersey Area Local. I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting two longtime members of our union family —Fran and Ann Friel— who’ve been hit hard by Hurricanes Helene  and Milton down in Florida. These storms devastated their home and left them with little more than the clothes on their backs.

Hurricane Helene flooded their house with several feet of water, destroying almost everything they owned. Before they even had a chance to regroup, Hurricane Milton followed, adding insult to injury. These back-to-back disasters have left Fran and Ann in an incredibly tough spot.

As many of you know, Fran Friel is no stranger to the APWU. He served for years as the PA Postal Workers Union State President and started his journey at the Philly BMC Local before moving on to become an officer with the Lehigh Valley Area Local (LVAL). His wife, Ann Friel, was also an active rep with the LVAL. They’ve both dedicated years to supporting postal workers like us.

Now it’s our turn to step up for them.

I’m asking everyone in our South Jersey Area Local to consider donating to the GoFundMe that’s been set up to help Fran and Ann rebuild their lives. 100% of the funds will go directly to helping them cover their immediate needs—rebuilding their home, replacing lost possessions, and paying for temporary housing while they get back on their feet.

Even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing the GoFundMe link with your networks will go a long way. We’ve always been a strong, united community, and now is a time when we can show what that really means.

A Message from Vince Tarducci, APWU:
“As many of you may have known, Fran Friel was a long time APWU representative, including the PA Postal Workers Union State President. He started out of the Philly BMC Local serving on the Local EB and became an officer for the Lehigh Valley Area Local (LVAL). His wife Ann was also a member of the LVAL representing the members of the local for many years.

I know many have already donated, but in the event you missed previous requests, this is another opportunity. Two back-to-back hurricanes are difficult to have to deal with but their resiliency and many family and friend support, they will get through this.
Thanks”

Thank you to everyone who has already donated, and to those who will. Together, we can help Fran and Ann rebuild after these devastating storms. Let’s stand united for two members who’ve always had our backs.

In Solidarity,
Tony Rodriguez

APWU Day of Action: Rally in Trenton

Written by: Tony Rodriguez

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) organized a Day of Action Rally in Trenton, New Jersey, bringing together postal employees and supporters from several local unions, including the Trenton Metro Area, South Jersey Area, NJ Shore, and Red Bank Locals. Held at the Trenton Processing and Distribution Center (680 US Highway 130), this rally was part of a national initiative aimed at addressing key challenges postal workers face and demanding greater transparency from postal leadership.

The rally was part of the APWU’s larger push for significant changes in USPS operations. Postal workers emphasized the need for adequate staffing, noting that understaffed facilities have resulted in longer hours, increased stress, and diminished service quality. The APWU has long called for USPS management to invest in recruiting and retaining workers, ensuring communities receive the high-quality mail services they rely on. As part of a nationwide movement, the Trenton rally was one of many held across the country, representing the collective voice of over 200,000 USPS employees and retirees. The message of solidarity is clear: postal workers deserve respect, fair wages, and a seat at the table when decisions are made about the future of the postal service.

Additionally, postal workers are seeking a fair contract that provides proper compensation, benefits, and cost-of-living adjustments for workers who have kept the postal system running through difficult circumstances.

For more information on the APWU’s national movement and demands, visit the APWU website (https://apwu.org).
