A FALSE Hazmat Agreement

This information comes via Chad Beer, Clerk Craft Director of LVAL #0268

“This attachment has now reared its ugly head in the Lehigh Valley Local. Two clerks were asked to sign the Agreement and I told them not to sign it. Item #3 states I understand that failure to follow this requirement is failure to observe safety rules and regulations. By signing does this admit guilt and would it hurt us in filing the improper EP placement? Let me know if anyone else is dealing with this issue. It started in Southeastern PA a few weeks ago. This also is not a proper Postal Form or Agreed upon with the APWU.” – C. Beer

Our members are NOT required to sign and should ask for Union Representation. If you see these show up in your offices or facilities, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING AND IMMEDIATELY REQUEST A SHOP STEWARD!!

The Postal Service Reform Act of 2022 (PSRA) was signed into law in April 2022. Since then, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), in conjunction with the Postal Service, has been working to implement a new Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program, as required under the new law. PSHB is a new, separate program within the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program and will be administered by OPM. Coverage under the PSHB Program will be effective January 1, 2025.
