Labor update

Tentative agreement reached on contract

The new deal covers approximately 218 HRSSC employees represented by the American Postal Workers Union.

USPS and the Human Resources Shared Service Center (HRSSC) bargaining unit have reached a tentative agreement on a 36-month contract.

The HRSSC unit is under the umbrella of the American Postal Workers Union and covers approximately 218 employees represented by the union.

“This agreement is economically responsible and fair to our employees,” said Deputy Postmaster General and Chief Human Resources Officer Doug Tulino.

The tentative agreement is subject to a ratification vote by the union membership. Upon ratification, the agreement will expire at midnight on Oct. 10, 2024.

New Union Contract

Well if you haven’t read or heard yet, APWU HAS A CONTRACT!!! On Wednesday, March 11th at 5:18 p.m., the official notification was released.

The key points are:

  • General wage increases for career and PSEs and full cost of living raises for career (retroactive for 2018 and 2019)
  • No lay-off protection maintained
  • 50-mile limit on excessing
  • Narrowing the gap in the two-tiered career wage structure
  • A one-time conversion to career for more than 4,000 PSEs

Contract Negotiation Preparations

Contract Negotiation Opening Day – June 26 – is around the corner.

Learn how you can get involved in the fight for a good contract!

The National Negotiations Committee will also update participants on preparations for the upcoming contract negotiations.

Here are the details:

What: Contract Negotiations Tele-Town Hall Update
When: April 23 at 11AM and 9PM Eastern Time (8AM and 6PM Pacific Time)
Where: We will call you! You can register to join the call here.

Please join the APWU National Negotiations Committee (NNC) for a live Tele-Town Hall for updates on negotiation preparations that are under way. Members will also hear updates on the contract campaign and how they can get involved.

The Tele-Town Hall will be held at two times on April 23 – at 11AM and 9PM EDT (8AM and 6PM PDT). You can register for the call here.

When members sign up for the call, they will have the option to submit suggestions – for both the contract negotiations and the contract campaign.
