USPS is Testing Self-Driving Trucks

Our President of South Jersey Area Local, Rob Armentani, had this to say:

The link below is on the APWU website posted June 14 concerning the USPS pilot of driverless tractors driving from Dallas to Phoenix with live mail. We are requesting our members, families,friends, and the community to go to the FMCSA website and make comments. We are concerned with the federal government relaxing the safety standards and regulations on driverless trucks. We are asking that you encourage your network to submit comments that cautions the government about these types of vehicles and their impact on the trucking industry.

Comments are allowed until July 29 but we want to start as soon as possible.”
